Student behavior is the #1 reason teachers leave.

Let’s help them stay.

A lot of trainings teach evidence-based strategies. But not all of them are enjoyable and engaging. They also do not bridge the space between learning new strategies and being ready to implement them the next day.

Crisis Averted.

Real talk. I’ve met very few teachers who were taught during their teacher prep how to de-escalate a child throwing chairs in the classroom. When I went through my undergraduate years, classroom management answered questions like- “what kind of system will you have in place when a child has missed a week of school? How will you catch them up?” A simpler time, right?

Now, teachers are responsible for so. much. more. Let’s talk about how you can change your approach to de-escalate spicy situations, reduce the time the child is sent to the principal’s office, and get back to those amazing lessons you had planned!

training 02

Getting off the Struggle Bus.

Have you been told to use a sticker chart? or a Token board? Stop me if this sounds familiar- The student seemed to do good…. for the first hour/day/week. But then the strategy stopped working. I’m assuming you stopped me here.

This training teaches you why common strategies fail and how we can troubleshoot them so that they work for you! Let’s talk about token boards, first-thens, tucker the turtle, and visual schedules.

training 03

I’ve got SKILLS… They’re multiplyin’!

As a school based behavior analyst, my life was problem behavior all day, every day! And that helped me see that every child that was referred to me had the same skill deficits. These kiddos struggled with play skills (in pre-k), emotional regulation, impulse control, organization, task initiation, planning, and communication. As a child begins to develop these skills, the frequency of problem behavior reduces. Let’s talk about strategies to promote that development.

Why is this happening & how can it stop?

There is a reason behind every behavior. It may not be obvious to us, but there are things we can do to sleuth it out.

There are reasons why an Octopus punches fish and there are reasons why children act aggressively, throw objects, scream, or hurt themselves. And while I can’t help figure out why the Octopus is hitting, I *can* help you with your students.

Remix!

All of the trainings are needed and you can’t choose just one? I get it. Let’s schedule 6 hour training! You pick four PDs and I’ll cover the objectives in the trainings as described. I’ll be sure to leave space for the make and take sessions. Teachers will learn the strategies AND have them ready to implement the next day!
